John 4:28-30

March 3, 2018 by Church Without Shoes

The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone, “Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?” So the people came streaming from the village to see him.

Big View: Person of Peace

Small View: Power – Proclamation

Observation: The woman is spurred to action after her encounter with Jesus. She proclaims that the one she has met may be the Messiah to all those who will listen in her village. She shared her gospel story. That is it. She didn’t twist any arms. She shared and left the choice to those who heard.

Action: When I see the door of proclamation open, I can share my gospel story, what God is currently doing in my life, trusting God for the results.

Observation: The woman was probably at the well to collect water for more than just herself. Her family? The man she was living with? She went for water and came back with something far greater.

Action: Remember that as important as the daily needs of life are, there is something else far more important. And from every encounter I can come away with more than I set out for.
