Luke 10:8-12

February 18, 2018 by Church Without Shoes

8 “When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you.9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

Big View: Person of Peace
Small View: Perception – Proclamation

Dominic Kan
Missio Community – Portland OR

Observation: I’m reminded that nothing I do on my part is ever going to convince someone to receive the good news of the King and his Kingdom, if they are not ready to receive the message being proclaimed.

Action: Though I cannot change people’s hearts and make them receive the message of the Kingdom, I am still going to be ready and be obedient to share stories of good news as I am present with POP in my life this week. I’m going to ask Jesus to help me perceive how he is already at work around me, and then be ready and obedient to proclaim what he tells me, and entrust the results to him.

Observation: God you’re telling me to show AND tell Your good news. I tend to lead with the show part of the good news of Christ-which is great – but people need to hear it as well.
Action: I am ready to share God’s good news today – both in action AND in word. Give me eyes to see where You are at work so I can join in.
