Mark 10:51-52

March 22, 2017 by Church Without Shoes

51 “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
52 “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

Big View: Person of Peace
Small View: Perception – Passing Relationships – Preparation

Jeff Allen
Faith Community Church – Littleton CO

Observation: In this passing relationship, Jesus perceived those around him and the calling out of Bartimaeus. As Jesus focused his attention and called him toward him, the blind man humbly acknowledged the teacher as Jesus asked what it was that he wanted to be done for him.

Action: Am I present and perceiving the Persons of Peace that the Holy Spirit is preparing in advance for “kingdom connections” that are not a part of my current schedule? How many times each day do I miss the opportunities God is putting in my path? Times to simply ask “what is it that you want me to do for you?” Lord God, may my eyes see with your perception and perspective today.

No matter what trial is confronting me, I am to put my trust in Jesus, and keep my eyes on Him.

Observation: I see God’s power at work here in a person of peace SO THAT this person can see Jesus for who He really is. I don’t know if Bartimaeus comes to know Jesus as Messiah – but he certainly got to see His power at work in a very real, tangible and meaningful way!
Response: Have eyes for the persons of peace God places before me. Do they need Jesus’ healing?
