Luke 19: 1-4

March 23, 2017 by Church Without Shoes

Jesus entered Jericho and made his way through the town. There was a man there named Zaccheus. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way.

Big View: Person of Peace

Observation: This unlikely man behaved in a very unlikely way for the opportunity to encounter Jesus.

Action: I will pray for raised sensitivity to unlikely people of peace among the groups I serve, and for unlikely expressions of favor among them.

I love this. I can get stuck in my box of what’s “likely” or my perception of “normal”. I will look for the unlikely person of peace.
