GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS
Romans 5:15-17 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
Father, I hear You reminding me that grace always outweighs sin, that the gift that came by the cross cannot even be compared to my trespasses. Though You see me justified, in dark times I see myself as condemned. Father, I hear that You want me to see me as You see me.
PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
When I feel ashamed, I am going to confess my part, and then redirect my focus on Your grace. I will declare aloud, “Your grace outweighs my sin, and You have accepted me.” I know there is a time for repentance and confession, but I have the tendency to live in my sins at the expense of experiencing the Good News. I will err on the side of boasting of your grace-filled gift, rather than focusing on my shortcomings.
PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Father, help me to see me how You see me, justified and reigning in the life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen
