What Will Last Is Securely In His Hands

March 26, 2013 by Church Without Shoes

GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS

John 12:31-33 “Now judgment is upon this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. “And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.” But He was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which He was to die.

PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
This world will not last. Satan has been defeated, cast out of heaven, and will soon be forced to leave this world too, never to be seen again. On the other hand, Jesus, when He was lifted up on the cross, was made visible to all people.

PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
And yet I still find myself focusing on the temporary things of this world, on the temptations that ensnare me. So I will make it a priority to start my day by meditating on the Bible, remembering Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. I will have courage to talk about Jesus in my everyday life, glorifying Him so that others will be drawn to Him. And I will stop worrying about the future, because I know God has everything that will last securely in His hands.

PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Father, draw us to the Son You lifted up on the cross and glorified, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

I heard God saying that Jesus death and resurrection was for all of us.
I will try to remember what God did for me, even after this season of Lent is over. I will try to share the story of the cross with others.
Thank you, Lord, for the sacrifice of the cross. Help me to live my life in such a way that draws people to You.

I hear God saying that his awesome power is shown through the death of Jesus on the cross. There was no argument and no discussion about it. He died for our sins and what is a greater sacrifice than this? I am incredibly grateful that God loves me enough that he wants a beautiful and peaceful life for me lived in true freedom. I want to share this amazing love with those who don’t yet know him. Lord thank you for loving me unconditionally and for always wanting the best for me. Please give me the strength and courage to love others this same way. Give me the eyes and ears to notice the hurts and your compassionate heart to speak the words they need to hear to start mending their brokenness. May your light shine brightly through me so those who are list will come and find you..amen

I spent time with some “up and out” people, happily on their way to hell via Hawaii in first class seats. I can’t reach them, but you Lord can draw them. I will actively seek the person of peace among them and leave the drawing responsibility with you. Lord, tune up my senses to identify the person of peace.
