GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS
John 8:19-21 (ESV) They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.” These words he spoke in the treasury, as he taught in the temple; but no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come. So he said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”
PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
Here Jesus tells of the importance of believing the Gospel: Unless individuals believe in Jesus, who was sent by God the Father, they will die in their sins. The Good News is that Jesus came to deliver me from spiritual darkness and calls me to simply believe.
PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
My plan is to walk in the confidence of the faith He gave me at my Baptism today, and not give ear to the fears or doubts that the father of lies wants me to believe. Today, I am going to tell the message of God’s love through Jesus to someone I believe does not know it.
PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Oh Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be my Savior. Help me to shine Your light into this sin-darkened world today with a message of Your love. Amen.
