GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS
John 13:1-5 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he now showed them the full extent of his love. The evening meal was being served, and the devil had already prompted Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to betray Jesus. Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
“… he now showed them the full extent of his love.” I see Jesus complete His teaching ministry and say “I love you” through an act of humblest service.
PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
This week I will show—not merely tell—my love for those whom I lead.
PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Jesus, please show me where and how I can best show love the people I lead, just as You did for those You led.
What an amazing sign of humility. Jesus is giving us an example of his unconditional love. He knows from the father that he is about to be betrayed by one of his disciples and chooses to wash their feet! In John 12:44 Jesus shouted from the crowds, “If you trust me you are really trusting God who sent me.” I want to love others the way Jesus loved us and in the way God loved Jesus. Lord I want to surrender all of my selfish impulses over to you. Give me the strength to love your children especially those that are difficult for me to love. Help me to easily extend grace without judgment the way you have and continue to extend your grace so freely to me..amen
