I Am The New Temple

GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS

John 2:18-23 Then the Jews demanded of him, “What miraculous sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” The Jews replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the Scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the miraculous signs he was doing and believed in his name.

PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
I hear Jesus saying, you are missing the point. You always want me to prove myself to you. You always want me to show myself to you in the supernatural or through miracles. But I showed up through death and I proved myself through resurrection. You always try to contain me in a building, but I am deconstructing your paradigm of me into a flesh and blood reality. You are missing the point – I am the new temple.

PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
This week I am going to practice the presence of Jesus in all things. In my mind I am going to place Your name (Jesus) continually in front of me. When I forget, I will simply and gently start again.

PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Lord, I am tired of missing Your point. I am tired of asking You to show up or prove Yourself to me. I want to live with You ever before me because that is what I believe.
