GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CROSS
John 11:47-50 Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council, and were saying, “What are we doing? For this man is performing many signs. “If we let Him go on like this, all men will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.” But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, “You know nothing at all, nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish.”

PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
Father, You are telling me here that You work over, around, and even through the actions of the hateful and wrong. I am always intimidated by the hate and wrong that bombards me every day. I am afraid that it will succeed. I see here, though, that hate and wrong cannot succeed against You. I see that You not only overcome hate and wrong, but actually make hate and wrong work for You. This You did on the Cross, turning the hatefulness and wrongness of the Sanhedrin into the redemption of the whole world, and this You continue to do with all hatefulness and wrongness today.
PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
I will certainly see something hateful and wrong on the news or the internet or the neighborhood today. When I do, I will not allow myself to be intimidated. Instead, I will encourage myself with the truth that God works over, around, and through the actions of hatefulness and wrongness until He defeats hatefulness and wrongness.
PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Praise belongs to You, Father, because You are wise and powerful enough to not only manage, but even triumph over hatefulness and wrongness in ways I could never have imagined.
