GOOD NEWS 4 SEEKERS SUNDAY
John 4:49-54 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus replied, “You may go. Your son will live.” The man took Jesus at his word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.” Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and all his household believed. This was the second miraculous sign that Jesus performed, having come from Judea to Galilee.

PERCEPTION // What I see/hear God saying/doing:
The royal official didn’t get to have Jesus accompany him on the journey home. I hear God reminding me that I won’t always have the benefit of sensing the Lord’s presence and power. And when that’s the case, I simply need to take the Father at His word, trusting He’ll do in my life what He says He’ll do.
PLAN // What I am going to do about it:
I’m going to relax my mental and emotional grip on the pressures of ministry this week, which is sapping my attention from my wife and children. I’m going to create some space where I set my anxieties down and open the way for some quality moments with them.
PRAYER // Seal the deal:
Lord, please help me trust that You’ll do the heavy lifting in this ministry. Help my family and me to have some undivided enjoyment of one another in the midst of daily stress.
Perfect timing on this verse and idea of letting God remain in control of our ministry. Amen.
