This past weekend was the Pastor Swap. Sometimes we gain a glimpse of the Kingdom through hearing a new voice.
- Did you hear something? What?
- Were you moved? How?
- What did you hear God say through the Pastor Swap this year?
- Were you encouraged? In what way(s)?

I had an amazing day with pastor swap. The one encouragement I sensed was how comfortable everyone felt. I Spoke at the Japanese church of WC, Chris Doi church and Doug McCoy spoke at our church Shelter. It felt like family. Like this is the way things are suppose to be. What I heard God saying is My Spirit is in this you are ONE BODY. Enjoy one another.
I too love the comfortableness of Pastor Swap and how it is becoming part of the fabric of Church Without Shoes.
Yesterday Morello Hills welcomed Jer Swigart who delivered a very compelling message on reaching out to your neighbors. It was fun to hear my dad (retired pastor of 45ish years) reflect on Jer’s message and challenge as he reflected on different ideas for neighborhood connections. I was at Valley Christian and was very warmly welcomed. After Kay Lynn Aylard (El Puente) shared with me that she heard God confirm and focus an outreach effort she is in the midst of through the message I delivered about following Christ’s actions. It seems that God is simply saying keep reaching out with love and wisdom! -Bill Francis
I had a great time at Calvary Baptist. I felt like a long lost uncle reconnecting with family. Good vibe and very comfortable. Shared how CWS is ‘united in Jesus Christ / united by love for each other / united for God’s breakthrough in our cities’ and it seemed like we all got it. Had good prayer and minstry time at the end of the gathering. Terry R was great at the Vineyard. All reports were ‘he’s family’, loved his message, and the Spirit was there touching people.
I am blessed to be part of God’s movement in our valley!
– Mike McCoy
Amen for God’s movement through all our churches.
Love pastor swap weekend! We are spoiled at St. Matthew with great preaching/teaching but it is fun to hear from another pastor. Ken Brown gave a prime time sermon on God’s message to the Ephesions from Revelation. Great reminder that we are human BEINGS in relationaship with Jesus and not human DOINGS trying to earn our way to heaven.
Keep up the tradition it is good for all of us – pastors as well as congregations.

Thanks for sharing Mary.
It was a joy to be with Doug McCoy and the community at First Christian Church! We talked kingdom of heaven, and what it means to live into “Thy Kingdom Come” in the present. It was a wonderful time of cross pollination in the family of God. My family joined us and it was like meeting extended family some of whom had never met before! Doug is doing a great work with the community at FCC and they clearly love and enjoy he and his whole family! Thank you for the time, connection and family!
Had an awesome time at Shelter. They rock! We had a great time with Art at FCC as well. I was blessed to get to be with our church and with another church in the same day. God is working through us!
I thought the Pastor swap was awesome, we got Pastor pete and i can say I was moved…Just a feeling of hope was ringing thoughout as he spoke of stopping just to be with God.I trully love sharing with others about churches without shoes and the amazing things I see happening in our growing community. I love being connected with otherschuches for one greater Goal…His Plan…Amen Amen 🙂
I’m late into the game! But Creekside was blessed and challenged by Pastor Kurt’s ministry. I was blessed to be a part of the wonderful Hills Vineyard Fellowship…met some wonderful people and it was a joy to worship under Dave’s worship ministry with the people loving Jesus! Pastor Mike, keep serving the heart of the city…you are a gift as a leader of the Valley Pastors!
Hi, I attend Morello Hills. We had Jer for our pastor swap. I enjoyed him talking on our community and what that encompasses. Part of my community is my neighborhoo. I loved his idea of the stoop sit. I do that on my front porch and get to talk to many people who walk up and down Alhambra Ave. Thanks and God bless
Great to hear your take-a-way Candie! You have a great place to be a “porch stooper”! That’s awesome you’re doing it! Keep up the good work.
Pastor Swap was awesome for our church. Bill Azbell knocked it out of the park. our folks were blessed!

Scott Purkey and his son came to Hillside and they were immediately received with joy and are now considered “beloved.” Thanks, Scott, for the good word on the art of suffering, and the meaningful time of prayer for healing and help.
