You Are Invited to Experience God’s Best

John 2:10-11 “Usually a host serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone is full and doesn’t care, he brings out the less expensive wines. But you have kept the best until now!” 11 This miraculous sign at Cana in Galilee was Jesus’ first display of his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

In Jesus’ first miracle, turning the water into wine at Cana, He saved the best for last. The difference between that experience of the guests at the wedding and you and me is the best is from start to finish. Isn’t it the best to be saved to God’s heaven at Salvation? And isn’t it the best to have the “new mercies” of forgiveness every morning, and isn’t it the best to have a relationship with the God of the universe, and isn’t it the best to have blessed assurance, and isn’t it the best to have the very Word of God in your own hands?

God loves us so much that there is nothing but the best for all of those who understand Romans 10:9 at a soul/heart level. So the question for us today is: Are we willing to experience the best God has for us in our lives? Even with Salvation already gained, we so often substitute with what we think is the best, as if we would know better what the “best wine” should be like the steward in the story. Have you ever noticed we are just as surprised as the steward when we finally let God supply the best for us and how much better it is that what we first thought the best would be? God’s plan for us is the best plan for us. Have I stopped today and asked God for His plan for my life, believing it is the best?

Prayer: Dear Lord, You are the best. Thank you for the provision for my life that is second to none. Help me this day in discerning Your best for me, to be Your light to others, and an instrument of Your Peace. Amen.

I cannot be reminded of this enough. A great focus- especially in times that are hard – God’s plan for my life is still the best. Thank you Dan.

Oh what a marvelous feeling, thru and thru, being God’s best – no place I’d rather be! Thank Pastor Dan for speaking of His revelation of love for me and the blessing that His light might shine thru me to others in need.

The hardest thing I do is remembering the God’s best for me may not be my best for me.
